   Meet The Trainer!

Jennifer Nelson is the trainer at Blue Iris Equestrian. Jennifer grew up in Minnetonka, Minnesota. She began riding with Jimmy Colburn and Ashley Stannard at Sky Rock Farm at the age of five, and has been a passionate horseback rider ever since. She began competing at the Winter Equestrian Festival in Wellington, Florida, at the age of 16. She rode with five time olympian, Anne Kursinski, for four years. With Anne, Jenny was a fierce competitor in the 1.35m jumpers at some of the highest ranked shows. Jennifer then went on to train with Andrew Welles, who helped her further her success and expand her competitive horizons. Jennifer competed at Spruce Meadows, where she was in the top placings multiple times in the 1.35m jumpers. She is currently competing in the Grand Prixs with her top horses and has the ride on multiple young horses who are competitive in the age classes. Jennifer has a degree in Animal Science from Cornell University. While at Cornell University, Jennifer was a member of the Varsity polo team and the western team.
